ABOUT VIRGINIA CAREER WORKS

ENSURING A BRIGHT FUTURE FOR VIRGINIA

THE VIRGINIA CAREER WORKS STORY

In January of 2017, the Commonwealth of Virginia undertook a statewide effort to better serve Virginia businesses and job-seeking citizens by unifying the state workforce system’s public face under a new and comprehensively applied brand.

The goal was a clear, easily recognizable brand that represents value-added service delivery so that job seekers recognize a brand identity that points them toward the workforce services they need and Virginia businesses see the workforce system as a value-added partner in their efforts to hire job-ready candidates, remain competitive, and contribute to a strong and diversified Virginia economy.

This new and unified brand resulted from hundreds of hours of input from workforce and educational professionals, industry leadership, individuals, and businesses who participated in developing the charter and implementation plan for Virginia Career Works.

Virginia Career Works stands for access, trust, support, and innovation with the vision of meaningful work and a successful career for every Virginian and sustainable vitality and growth for business and industry across the Commonwealth.

Our mission is to advance economic stability and growth by preparing and connecting people who want to work with employers who need to hire through its training providers and network of professional partners. Virginia Career Works is Virginia’s vital link between meaningful employment and growing businesses, changing lives; and advancing economic prosperity.
